法喜寺(si)建筑(zhu)雄(xiong)偉(wei),布局莊(zhuang)嚴。寺(si)內(nei)殿(dian)堂(tang)(tang)(tang)很多,除大(da)(da)殿(dian)外,有(you)肅儀(yi)亭、夜講堂(tang)(tang)(tang)、白(bai)(bai)云(yun)堂(tang)(tang)(tang)、兩峰(feng)堂(tang)(tang)(tang)、雪(xue)坡(po)軒等(deng)。寺(si)四周有(you)白(bai)(bai)云(yun)峰(feng)、白(bai)(bai)云(yun)泉(quan)、乳竇(dou)峰(feng)、乳竇(dou)泉(quan)等(deng)名勝。白(bai)(bai)云(yun)峰(feng)的(de)白(bai)(bai)云(yun)茶曾是南宋(song)(song)歲(sui)貢的(de)西湖名茶。宋(song)(song)元祐中(zhong),蘇東坡(po)出任杭州知府,曾數次來游(you),留下《雨中(zhong)游(you)天竺(zhu)靈感觀(guan)音院》等(deng)詩篇(pian)。宋(song)(song)朱熹(xi)、呂祖謙、戴復古,元趙(zhao)孟(meng)、倪瓚(zan)等(deng)均有(you)游(you)上天竺(zhu)詩。宋(song)(song)代抗金(jin)英雄(xiong)岳(yue)飛的(de)《歸赴行在過上天竺(zhu)寺(si)偶題(ti)》詩篇(pian)更是氣壯山(shan)河,令人感奮。現寺(si)中(zhong)有(you)大(da)(da)殿(dian)和(he)齋、客堂(tang)(tang)(tang)等(deng)輔助用(yong)房,鑄5噸(dun)半重(zhong)的(de)大(da)(da)銅鐘,并在重(zhong)建天王殿(dian)和(he)后殿(dian) 。

1、最好是在每月的初一、十五去(qu)比較(jiao)好,無法控制就看機緣,隨性而(er)去(qu);
2、禮佛前沐浴更(geng)衣,有條件焚香冥想更(geng)好(hao),建議當天吃素(su);
3、去寺廟不要穿(chuan)暴露的(de)衣服,素色為宜,女生穿(chuan)褲子更方便;
4、不要踩寺(si)廟門檻(jian),女跨(kua)右腳,男跨(kua)左腳;
5、許愿心靜、誠實;
6、不要拍佛像。
由于宋(song)真宗崇佛(fo)(fo)道(dao),繼而(er)宋(song)仁(ren)宗推崇佛(fo)(fo)教,因(yin)此(ci),當時(shi)杭(hang)州(zhou)(zhou)官如蘇軾、蔡(cai)襄(xiang)、沈(shen)(shen)文(wen)通等均(jun)與杭(hang)州(zhou)(zhou)佛(fo)(fo)門(men)密切(qie)交往,也使靈(ling)竺(zhu)趨于興盛。宋(song)仁(ren)宗天圣初(chu)年(nian)(1023年(nian))有(you)銑和尚(shang)在白(bai)云峰、獅子峰之(zhi)間建觀(guan)音殿(dian),一時(shi)香(xiang)火甚盛,“眾山環(huan)拱(gong),煙云瓢渺,時(shi)聞鐘聲,恍然天官”。皇佑元年(nian)(1049年(nian)),宋(song)仁(ren)宗曾將(jiang)秘典5330卷賜予看經院,作(zuo)為(wei)教藏(zang),為(wei)此(ci)專(zhuan)門(men)造了藏(zang)經殿(dian)。至(zhi)嘉佑中(1059-1060年(nian)),杭(hang)州(zhou)(zhou)郡(jun)守沈(shen)(shen)文(wen)通認為(wei)“觀(guan)音以聲音宣佛(fo)(fo)力,非禪(chan)那所(suo)居”,提出“以教易禪(chan)”,將(jiang)禪(chan)寺改為(wei)教寺,并(bing)命寺僧(seng)辯才(即元凈)主持(chi)筑室(shi),殿(dian)加重檐,宋(song)仁(ren)宗親書“靈(ling)感(gan)觀(guan)音院”寺額。至(zhi)治平中(1065年(nian)前后(hou))蔡(cai)襄(xiang)守郡(jun),由宰相曾公亮出資修(xiu)建寺皖(wan),并(bing)將(jiang)其所(suo)贈佛(fo)(fo)經5230卷藏(zang)于院之(zhi)西廡。元符三(san)年(nian)(1100年(nian))十(shi)六觀(guan)堂落(luo)成。
宋(song)(song)(song)室南(nan)遷后,金兵(bing)于建炎四年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1130年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian))入侵杭(hang)城。當時金兀術(即完(wan)顏宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)弼)曾(ceng)謁上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu),得咒觀(guan)音像始末,遂(sui)將觀(guan)音像及大藏(zang)(zang)(zang)經載于轎(jiao)車內運往北方(fang),寺(si)(si)僧智完(wan)率弟子跟(gen)隨至(zhi)燕京西南(nan)五里的(de)玉河鄉建寺(si)(si)供奉。紹興二年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1132年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)),宋(song)(song)(song)高(gao)宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)命住持惟日建藏(zang)(zang)(zang)經樓和(he)應真閣,并(bing)于紹興五年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)親臨進香(xiang)。隆(long)興二年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1164年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)),宋(song)(song)(song)孝宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)又(you)命臨安府(fu)尹曹澄督建五百(bai)羅漢堂(tang)(tang)。干道元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1165年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian))二月(yue)(yue),宋(song)(song)(song)孝宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)專(zhuan)門(men)召見(jian)上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)住持若(ruo)納,并(bing)封為(wei)(wei)“右街僧竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)”,后又(you)封“左(zuo)街僧竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)”,賜(si)(si)(si)“白(bai)云(yun)堂(tang)(tang)印”,命若(ruo)納管轄(xia)禪、教、律(lv)三(san)(san)宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)和(he)江南(nan)佛教事(shi)務(wu),由此,上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)寺(si)(si)名重京師。干道三(san)(san)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1167年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)),宋(song)(song)(song)孝宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)還(huan)視往察看,賜(si)(si)(si)絹(juan)錢二萬(wan),命重建十六(liu)觀(guan)堂(tang)(tang)。至(zhi)干道八年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1172年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian))二月(yue)(yue)又(you)下詔重修寺(si)(si)院,改院為(wei)(wei)寺(si)(si),御書“法輪(lun)寶(bao)藏(zang)(zang)(zang)”額,將曰月(yue)(yue)珠、鬼谷珠,貓眼等內宮(gong)珠寶(bao)賜(si)(si)(si)予(yu)該院。淳熙元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1174年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian))又(you)將福州印造的(de)藏(zang)(zang)(zang)經500函賜(si)(si)(si)藏(zang)(zang)(zang)該院。翌年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),宋(song)(song)(song)孝宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)到(dao)上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)進香(xiang),正式(shi)改院為(wei)(wei)“靈(ling)感觀(guan)音講寺(si)(si)”。當時,凡帝王上(shang)(shang)山(shan)(shan)進香(xiang)都在(zai)白(bai)云(yun)堂(tang)(tang)進齋。至(zhi)宋(song)(song)(song)寧宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)慶元(yuan)(yuan)三(san)(san)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1197年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian))改名為(wei)(wei)“天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)教寺(si)(si)”,評定(ding)為(wei)(wei)教寺(si)(si)“五山(shan)(shan)之首”。凡高(gao)麗等國(guo)(guo)使者僧人來朝(chao),都至(zhi)上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)交驗書牒并(bing)予(yu)接待(dai)。開禧二年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(l206年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian))七月(yue)(yue)燈火成災,十六(liu)觀(guan)堂(tang)(tang)被(bei)毀,住持妙(miao)蛙竭(jie)力營建,一年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)完(wan)工。南(nan)宋(song)(song)(song)后期,上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)菩薩(sa)被(bei)朝(chao)廷奉為(wei)(wei)“治國(guo)(guo)安邦”的(de)主宰(zai)。宋(song)(song)(song)理宗(zong)(zong)(zong)(zong)趙昀在(zai)《天竺(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)靈(ling)感觀(guan)音大士贊》中稱:“神通至(zhi)妙(miao)兮隱(yin)顯莫(mo)測,功德無(wu)邊(bian)兮應感奚速。時和(he)歲豐兮豐佑(you)我(wo)民,兵(bing)寢(qin)刑措(cuo)兮康此王國(guo)(guo)。”
宋末咸淳二(er)年(nian)(1266年(nian)),寺(si)院盡(jin)毀,于五年(nian)由寺(si)僧(seng)慶(qing)思募(mu)(mu)建(jian),乃(nai)改(gai)為“天竺(zhu)教寺(si)”,至元末時(shi),上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)寺(si)院又毀,直至明洪武十(shi)(shi)五年(nian)(1382年(nian)),高僧(seng)宗(zong)泐入(ru)京任(ren)僧(seng)侶左善世師,奏請重建(jian);明太(tai)祖遂下旨建(jian)觀音(yin)菩(pu)薩殿,并(bing)下令(ling)杭(hang)城駐軍停操二(er)月為建(jian)寺(si)搬(ban)運(yun)磚木。明正統十(shi)(shi)年(nian)(1445年(nian))明英宗(zong)朱(zhu)祁鎮將本山《北藏(zang)經》5048卷賜藏(zang)該(gai)寺(si)左右(you),同時(shi)附有(you)《護藏(zang)敕諭》一道。在(zai)明朝統治二(er)百七十(shi)(shi)余年(nian)間,上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)完全靠僧(seng)人募(mu)(mu)化等辦法整修(xiu)寺(si)院。清朝前(qian)期,清帝信奉(feng)觀音(yin)大(da)士“奇術妙相”、“靈感顯應”,對天竺(zhu)寺(si)恩寵有(you)加。康熙玄燁,六巡江南,五到(dao)上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)。康熙五年(nian)(1666年(nian))發朝廷內庫“重為周色(se)”,并(bing)賜《金(jin)書(shu)尊經》,官員們盛贊此舉使“湖山動色(se),草(cao)木回光(guang),美(mei)哉圣乎(hu)!”玄燁先后賜御(yu)書(shu)《金(jin)剛經》石刻(ke)一部(bu)、御(yu)書(shu)“法雨慈云”匾(bian)額(e)、金(jin)字(zi)《心經》、墨刻(ke)《藥師經》、御(yu)制《重修(xiu)上(shang)(shang)天竺(zhu)寺(si)碑(bei)記(ji)》等。
乾隆十(shi)六年(nian)(1751年(nian))三(san)月(yue),弘歷初到(dao)南(nan)巡進兩到(dao)上(shang)(shang)天(tian)(tian)竺,除題詩外,并定名上(shang)(shang)天(tian)(tian)竺寺為“法喜寺”,御書(shu)(shu)寺額(e)和“寶(bao)陀飛(fei)觀(guan)”、“普甘露門”等(deng)匾(bian)額(e),題寫(xie)柱聯有:“繞(rao)座法輪明寶(bao)月(yue),盈階(jie)甘雨散花天(tian)(tian)。”此后(hou),他(ta)每(mei)到(dao)上(shang)(shang)天(tian)(tian)竺,必有賞賜(si)或有卸書(shu)(shu)題字,先后(hou)該觀(guan)音像、佛(fo)像,石刻(ke)《蓮華(hua)經》,御書(shu)(shu)《華(hua)嚴經》、《蘭亭圖石刻(ke)手(shou)卷》,并題寫(xie)“色空不二”、“印(yin)真闡諦”匾(bian)額(e)等(deng),他(ta)手(shou)書(shu)(shu)的《千(qian)手(shou)千(qian)眼觀(guan)世音大悲心陀羅(luo)尼經》石刻(ke)一冊(ce)曾刻(ke)石19塊(kuai)嵌于法喜寺羅(luo)漢大士殿。
正(zheng)是由于(yu)朝廷的提倡和(he)眾(zhong)多佛徒信(xin)(xin)眾(zhong)對“觀音靈(ling)驗”的信(xin)(xin)奉(feng),故(gu)明清時,浙(zhe)江蘇(su)南各地的鄉民(min)村姑都紛紛來天(tian)竺(zhu)進香(xiang)(xiang),成(cheng)為每年(nian)(nian)(nian)一(yi)(yi)度的“香(xiang)(xiang)市”。據《武林舊事》、《仁和(he)懸志》稱:“方(fang)(fang)奉(feng)時,鄉民(min)扶老攜幼,焚香(xiang)(xiang)頂禮(li)大士(shi)(shi),以祝豐年(nian)(nian)(nian),香(xiang)(xiang)車寶馬(ma),絡繹于(yu)道,更有(you)自遠方(fang)(fang)負擔而(er)來者(zhe),名曰(yue)香(xiang)(xiang)客。凡自普陀院(yuan)回向,未有(you)不(bu)至(zhi)此者(zhe)。”“二(er)月(yue)十九(jiu)日為觀音大士(shi)(shi)誕(dan)辰,三吳浙(zhe)東(dong)士(shi)(shi)民(min),齋至(zhi)藝香(xiang)(xiang),舟車絡繹,晝夜不(bu)絕。”每年(nian)(nian)(nian)新年(nian)(nian)(nian)剛(gang)過,“春(chun)服既(ji)成(cheng)”,而(er)養蠶(can)尚早,于(yu)是“銜舟打槳,進香(xiang)(xiang)天(tian)竺(zhu),結舫為鄰(lin),棲(qi)至(zhi)于(yu)此”。每逢香(xiang)(xiang)市自武林門、松木場、經昭訂寺到天(tian)竺(zhu),沿(yan)途擺(bai)滿各種貨攤,販賣各種用具(ju)(ju)、土產、玩具(ju)(ju)等,為時一(yi)(yi)月(yue)有(you)余(yu),延綿(mian)數里,道為之(zhi)塞。“天(tian)竺(zhu)香(xiang)(xiang)市”被列(lie)為“十八景之(zhi)一(yi)(yi)”,直(zhi)至(zhi)1949年(nian)(nian)(nian)前,三竺(zhu)路旁仍(reng)建(jian)有(you)相連平房供香(xiang)(xiang)客宿夜。50年(nian)(nian)(nian)代后開始衰落,70年(nian)(nian)(nian)代末開始重又興盛。
“文革”期(qi)間,法(fa)喜(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)亦遭劫難。改(gai)革開(kai)放(fang)後,杭州市政府把(ba)天竺三寺(si)(si)列(lie)為西湖風景(jing)區名勝發(fa)展項目,法(fa)喜(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)又喜(xi)(xi)逢佛緣(yuan)盛世。在國(guo)內外十方大德賢(xian)士支持下,寺(si)(si)院(yuan)煥發(fa)新彩。重修後的法(fa)喜(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)現有天王(wang)殿(dian)、圓通殿(dian)、大雄寶(bao)殿(dian)、齋堂、客房、山門等(deng)主要(yao)建筑。尤(you)其(qi)(qi)是大雄寶(bao)殿(dian)的五(wu)(wu)百(bai)羅(luo)漢(han)(han)山,其(qi)(qi)雕(diao)塑(su)造(zao)型藝術融全(quan)國(guo)各地寺(si)(si)院(yuan)五(wu)(wu)百(bai)羅(luo)漢(han)(han)造(zao)像風格。寺(si)(si)內還有生(sheng)長(chang)歷史(shi)已有五(wu)(wu)百(bai)多(duo)年的古(gu)玉(yu)蘭和方竹,其(qi)(qi)中古(gu)玉(yu)蘭只每年二月十二開(kai)花(hua),二月二十即凋謝(xie),開(kai)花(hua)期(qi)僅八天,故爾有緣(yuan)睹其(qi)(qi)花(hua)者甚為難得。
