《乙瑛碑》是刊(kan)刻(ke)(ke)于東(dong)漢永興元年(nian)(nian)(153年(nian)(nian))的一(yi)方碑刻(ke)(ke),又稱“百石卒史碑”“孔龢碑”“孔和(he)碑”等,無撰書人姓名(ming),屬隸書書法作品(pin),現(xian)存于曲(qu)阜漢魏碑刻(ke)(ke)陳列(lie)館。
《乙瑛碑》為(wei)方首碑,高198厘(li)米,寬91.5厘(li)米,厚22厘(li)米,無額,碑文(wen)18行,每行40字,記錄了(le)魯相乙瑛上書請求(qiu)為(wei)孔廟(miao)設(she)置百石(shi)卒史(shi)一(yi)(yi)人來執掌禮器(qi)廟(miao)祀之(zhi)事,屬于紀事性的祠廟(miao)碑,與《禮器(qi)碑》《史(shi)晨碑》合稱“孔廟(miao)三碑”。書法(fa)上,其書體方整,結(jie)構嚴謹,筆(bi)(bi)(bi)(bi)勢剛健,書法(fa)雄勁,字取橫勢,粗細相間,起筆(bi)(bi)(bi)(bi)藏(zang)鋒,收筆(bi)(bi)(bi)(bi)回鋒,長(chang)筆(bi)(bi)(bi)(bi)畫(hua)呈彎(wan)弧(hu),波尾大挑,折(zhe)角圓(yuan)和(he),波勢蘊柔,中(zhong)斂旁肆,瀟灑飛逸,氣韻(yun)盎然,被(bei)近(jin)人推為(wei)東漢(han)綺麗書派的代表,是(shi)漢(han)隸成(cheng)熟的標志碑之(zhi)一(yi)(yi)。
司徒臣雄、司空臣戒,稽首言:“魯前相瑛書言:‘詔書崇圣道,〔勉〕〔學〕〔藝〕,孔子作《春秋》,制《孝經》,□□《五經》,演《易·〔系〕┘辭》,經緯天地,幽讃神明,故特立廟。襃成侯四時來祠,事已即去。廟有禮器,無常人掌領。請置百石□□一┘人,典主守廟,春秋饗禮。財出王家錢,給犬酒直。須報。’謹問大常祠曹掾馮牟、史郭玄。辭對:‘〔故事,辟〕□〔禮〕未┘行,祠先圣師。侍祠者,孔子子孫,大宰、大祝令各一人,皆備爵。大常丞監祠,河南尹〔給〕牛〔羊〕彖□□□各一,┘大司農給米祠。’臣愚以為,如瑛言,孔子大圣,則象乾
據碑(bei)文記載,魯相乙瑛(ying)上書請為魯城孔(kong)廟置守廟者及祭祀(si)孔(kong)子費用應由王家(jia)承(cheng)出等,經(jing)司徒吳雄、司空趙戒轉(zhuan)呈皇帝,得以批準。后乙瑛(ying)離任(ren)(ren),而由繼任(ren)(ren)魯相平選孔(kong)和(孔(kong)龢)為守廟百石(shi)(shi)卒(zu)史,由魯令鮑疊造(zao)作百石(shi)(shi)吏舍等。《乙瑛(ying)碑(bei)》即是為紀念中央(yang)批準設置孔(kong)廟百石(shi)(shi)卒(zu)史一事而立,立于東漢永興元年(nian)(nian)(153年(nian)(nian))。
《乙(yi)瑛碑》的用(yong)(yong)筆方圓兼備,點畫嚴謹,輕重變(bian)化(hua),長短參差(cha),波筆彎弧大挑(tiao),用(yong)(yong)墨有潤燥,行(xing)筆流(liu)暢生動。有淹留遲澀,用(yong)(yong)力屈曲,或疾徐頓挫(cuo),一波三折。

四、撇法
撇(pie)(pie)(pie)畫(hua)是表現飛(fei)動開張之勢一(yi)畫(hua)。撇(pie)(pie)(pie)尾有(you)出鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)與(yu)回鋒(feng)(feng)(feng),方腳(jiao)與(yu)挑(tiao)腳(jiao),從撇(pie)(pie)(pie)形上(shang)看有(you)直(zhi)撇(pie)(pie)(pie)與(yu)曲撇(pie)(pie)(pie),長撇(pie)(pie)(pie)與(yu)短撇(pie)(pie)(pie)等。回鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“文”字斜(xie)撇(pie)(pie)(pie)畫(hua)尾部(bu)挑(tiao)腳(jiao)回鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)。出鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“吏”字的豎撇(pie)(pie)(pie)畫(hua),撇(pie)(pie)(pie)尾部(bu)挑(tiao)筆(bi)出鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)。挑(tiao)腳(jiao)撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“為”字的長斜(xie)撇(pie)(pie)(pie),中腰較瘦,起(qi)筆(bi)向(xiang)右橫頓,折筆(bi)向(xiang)左斜(xie)下(xia)行(xing),到(dao)位(wei)翻筆(bi)上(shang)挑(tiao)出鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)。方腳(jiao)撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“文”字撇(pie)(pie)(pie)向(xiang)左斜(xie)下(xia)孤行(xing),至腳(jiao)上(shang)切回鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)收筆(bi),使撇(pie)(pie)(pie)腳(jiao)呈方形。斜(xie)直(zhi)撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“者”字的撇(pie)(pie)(pie)形較直(zhi),起(qi)筆(bi)與(yu)收筆(bi)全是藏鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)。長中豐撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“米”字的長撇(pie)(pie)(pie)露鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)起(qi)筆(bi),行(xing)筆(bi)漸按再提筆(bi)出鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)。豎曲撇(pie)(pie)(pie):如“用”字左豎撇(pie)(pie)(pie),逆鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)起(qi)筆(bi),中鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)下(xia)行(xing),轉筆(bi)左彎(wan),回鋒(feng)(feng)(feng)收筆(bi)。
五、捺法
捺(na)畫是斜(xie)勢(shi)(shi)的(de)(de)波畫,筆(bi)勢(shi)(shi)比其他畫重,是很多字的(de)(de)主筆(bi),以不同斜(xie)度、弧曲、輕(qing)重、方圓、藏露來表(biao)現。有“人”字的(de)(de)回鋒(feng)(feng)捺(na),捺(na)起筆(bi)中鋒(feng)(feng)右斜(xie)行漸按,至(zhi)捺(na)腳側鋒(feng)(feng)上挑回鋒(feng)(feng);“人”字、“歸”字的(de)(de)出鋒(feng)(feng)捺(na);“給”字、“道”字的(de)(de)挑角捺(na);“長”字、“之”字方腳捺(na)。
六、鉤法

七、折法
折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)法(fa)(fa)可歸納為方(fang)(fang)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)、圓折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)、平(ping)(ping)肩(jian)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)、聳(song)肩(jian)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)、斷(duan)筆折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)。方(fang)(fang)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)有“首(shou)”字(zi)(zi);圓折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)有“司”字(zi)(zi);方(fang)(fang)圓折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe):如(ru)“空”字(zi)(zi)外圓內方(fang)(fang)的(de)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)畫,平(ping)(ping)肩(jian)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)如(ru)“朔”字(zi)(zi)右邊“月(yue)”字(zi)(zi)的(de)肩(jian)是(shi)(shi)(shi)平(ping)(ping)的(de),其(qi)寫法(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)(shi)橫(heng)端下(xia)回折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),即在(zai)橫(heng)下(xia)寫豎(shu);聳(song)肩(jian)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe):如(ru)“詔”字(zi)(zi)右下(xia)方(fang)(fang)“口”字(zi)(zi)的(de)肩(jian)是(shi)(shi)(shi)聳(song)起的(de),其(qi)寫法(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)(shi)橫(heng)至肩(jian)提筆向上(shang)再(zai)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)下(xia);豎(shu)肩(jian)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),如(ru)“者”下(xia)“日”字(zi)(zi)的(de)肩(jian),是(shi)(shi)(shi)橫(heng)后再(zai)寫直豎(shu),豎(shu)比(bi)橫(heng)高(gao);斷(duan)肩(jian)折(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe):如(ru)“寅”字(zi)(zi)上(shang)下(xia)兩肩(jian)全(quan)斷(duan),其(qi)寫法(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)(shi)橫(heng)不連豎(shu)。
八、提法
提(ti)筆(bi)(bi)被橫所代替,但寸(cun)點和右(you)短撇(pie)都變(bian)成提(ti)筆(bi)(bi),有提(ti)筆(bi)(bi)變(bian)橫,如“特”字(zi)(zi)、“孔(kong)”字(zi)(zi);短撇(pie)變(bian)提(ti),如“辰”字(zi)(zi);點變(bian)提(ti),如“等”字(zi)(zi)、“年”字(zi)(zi)。
《乙瑛(ying)碑》的(de)結體,寓風流于(yu)嚴謹之(zhi)中(zhong),具有“冠裳佩(pei)玉”的(de)韻致和俊逸瀟(xiao)灑的(de)意趣(qu)。避免了(le)追求(qiu)“宗廟之(zhi)美(mei)”所(suo)可(ke)能(neng)帶來(lai)的(de)板滯,肅(su)穆(mu)而(er)有清新活潑的(de)氣息。如“奉”字(zi)(zi)(zi)和“奏”字(zi)(zi)(zi)的(de)字(zi)(zi)(zi)頭寬大,字(zi)(zi)(zi)底窄小,兩者形成(cheng)(cheng)強(qiang)烈(lie)的(de)對比而(er)不失重(zhong)心;兩個“府”字(zi)(zi)(zi),趣(qu)味不同,各有變(bian)化,一(yi)個豎撇(pie)低垂,筆畫相(xiang)連,形態(tai)(tai)緊(jin)湊,一(yi)個豎撇(pie)高(gao)抬,形斷意連,松而(er)不散;“須(xu)”字(zi)(zi)(zi)的(de)左偏(pian)旁位置甚(shen)高(gao),因右偏(pian)旁波畫寬展(zhan),兩點撐開,形成(cheng)(cheng)了(le)穩重(zhong)的(de)主體,所(suo)以(yi)高(gao)低錯落而(er)不失平(ping)衡;“試”字(zi)(zi)(zi)和“乾”字(zi)(zi)(zi)的(de)左偏(pian)旁寫得特(te)別(bie)大卻(que)無喧賓奪主之(zhi)感(gan),夸張的(de)形態(tai)(tai)和獨(du)(du)特(te)的(de)結構(gou)(gou)極富(fu)個性(xing)色彩(cai);“司”字(zi)(zi)(zi)的(de)橫折彎鉤,或(huo)(huo)(huo)伸展(zhan)形成(cheng)(cheng)端莊(zhuang)緊(jin)湊的(de)三面包圍,或(huo)(huo)(huo)收縮構(gou)(gou)成(cheng)(cheng)倚(yi)側開放的(de)兩面包圍;“少(shao)”字(zi)(zi)(zi)似人斜臥,展(zhan)示(shi)出(chu)(chu)倚(yi)側舒展(zhan)之(zhi)美(mei);“疊”字(zi)(zi)(zi)筆畫層疊,形態(tai)(tai)高(gao)聳,勢如山岳(yue);“窮”字(zi)(zi)(zi)的(de)豎、撤下(xia)伸,兩“口”上抬;“成(cheng)(cheng)”字(zi)(zi)(zi)扁壓而(er)右戈逸出(chu)(chu)。這些字(zi)(zi)(zi)或(huo)(huo)(huo)是一(yi)腳著地展(zhan)現出(chu)(chu)“金雞(ji)獨(du)(du)立”的(de)動態(tai)(tai)美(mei),或(huo)(huo)(huo)是擴大筆畫間(jian)偏(pian)旁間(jian)的(de)反(fan)差,呈現出(chu)(chu)新穎獨(du)(du)特(te)的(de)結構(gou)(gou)形式。
《乙瑛碑》的章法有如下三個特點:
①縱有行(xing),橫(heng)成(cheng)列,格局(ju)恢宏。《乙瑛(ying)碑(bei)》在排列上縱看(kan)成(cheng)行(xing),橫(heng)看(kan)成(cheng)列,整(zheng)體章法次序井然(ran),步伍(wu)整(zheng)齊,自不(bu)待言。由于《乙瑛(ying)碑(bei)》結字上下和左右比較(jiao)均衡,線條的(de)粗(cu)細(xi)、輕重無較(jiao)大起伏,外形(xing)方正,停頓有度,所(suo)以,整(zheng)體布局(ju)更加(jia)規(gui)范(fan),呈現出宏碑(bei)巨制、高文典冊、氣(qi)格宏大、高古(gu)典雅(ya)的(de)廟(miao)(miao)堂之氣(qi),適合(he)置身(shen)于曲(qu)阜孔廟(miao)(miao)這種莊重肅穆(mu)之所(suo)。
②橫(heng)向(xiang)取勢(shi)(shi),字(zi)距(ju)大(da)于(yu)行(xing)距(ju),波(bo)(bo)涌(yong)之勢(shi)(shi)強烈。同其它成熟期(qi)的(de)漢碑一樣,《乙(yi)瑛碑》結(jie)字(zi)左舒(shu)右(you)展(zhan),橫(heng)向(xiang)取勢(shi)(shi)。凡(fan)是(shi)(shi)撇(pie)畫(hua)(hua)、鉤畫(hua)(hua)盡(jin)(jin)量左掠(lve),凡(fan)是(shi)(shi)波(bo)(bo)畫(hua)(hua)、捺畫(hua)(hua)盡(jin)(jin)量向(xiang)右(you)肆展(zhan),因此,碑中(zhong)的(de)絕大(da)多數字(zi)屬于(yu)扁平結(jie)構,只(zhi)有少數字(zi)比較方(fang)正(zheng),從而(er)整體布局形成字(zi)距(ju)大(da)于(yu)行(xing)距(ju)的(de)章法形式(shi)。書(shu)寫者越往(wang)后寫越心手(shou)雙暢(chang)(chang),因而(er),碑后半部分向(xiang)左右(you)的(de)展(zhan)放之勢(shi)(shi)越加(jia)明顯,越加(jia)流暢(chang)(chang),精彩紛呈。字(zi)距(ju)大(da)于(yu)行(xing)距(ju)的(de)格局產生橫(heng)向(xiang)開張(zhang)的(de)氣勢(shi)(shi),在行(xing)列有序之中(zhong),字(zi)里行(xing)間更加(jia)流暢(chang)(chang)自然(ran),氣格更加(jia)恢宏。
③呼(hu)應連貫(guan),左(zuo)(zuo)盼(pan)右(you)顧(gu),縱(zong)橫涌(yong)動。《乙瑛碑》雖然結體端莊,章法(fa)上(shang)縱(zong)成行,橫有(you)(you)列,但其(qi)筆畫富有(you)(you)變(bian)化,整體布局(ju)毫不(bu)呆板。縱(zong)看,字(zi)(zi)與字(zi)(zi)之間(jian)的(de)間(jian)隔并不(bu)是孤孤零零,而是筆斷意連,上(shang)下(xia)呼(hu)應連貫(guan),銜(xian)接(jie)和諧。由于(yu)字(zi)(zi)的(de)形態(tai)大(da)小(xiao)不(bu)一,間(jian)隔有(you)(you)大(da)有(you)(you)小(xiao),其(qi)字(zi)(zi)距并不(bu)是均(jun)衡劃一,空間(jian)分割或(huo)疏或(huo)密(mi),顯(xian)得敞朗透(tou)氣。還由于(yu)每個字(zi)(zi)重心取向(xiang)上(shang)的(de)上(shang)下(xia)左(zuo)(zuo)右(you)移位,所(suo)以,一行行的(de)中軸線左(zuo)(zuo)右(you)擺動,搖曳(ye)生姿。從橫向(xiang)看去,行與行之間(jian)靠得很緊密(mi),有(you)(you)的(de)幾乎搭(da)肩接(jie)踵,整體觀望,像一排排涌(yong)動的(de)洪濤巨浪向(xiang)前推進(jin)。
總(zong)而言之(zhi),《乙(yi)瑛(ying)碑》在其莊重(zhong)靜(jing)肅的(de)主調之(zhi)下,又(you)是流動(dong)的(de)、活脫的(de)。
明(ming)代金石(shi)(shi)學家趙崡:此(ci)碑永(yong)興元年(nian)造(zao)。元常,獻(xian)帝初始為黃門侍郎,距永(yong)興且四十年(nian),此(ci)非元常書明(ming)甚(shen)。未知張稚(zhi)圭所(suo)按何圖。其敘事簡(jian)古(gu),隸法(fa)遒勁,令(ling)人想(xiang)見(jian)漢(han)人風(feng)采,政(正)不必附會元常也。(《石(shi)(shi)墨鐫華·卷一·漢(han)魯相置孔廟卒史碑》)

明末(mo)清初(chu)收藏(zang)家孫承澤:孔廟(miao)《卒(zu)史碑》,文既(ji)爾雅簡質,書復高(gao)古超(chao)逸,漢石中(zhong)之最(zui)不易得者。都(dou)玄敬謂此碑殘(can)闕,予所收本則(ze)完善,當在都(dou)所見本以前。后云“后漢鐘太(tai)尉書”,則(ze)后人附會(hui)之耳(er)。(《庚子(zi)銷(xiao)夏(xia)記·卷五·魯相乙(yi)瑛請置百石卒(zu)史孔龢碑》)

清代書法(fa)家翁(weng)方(fang)綱(gang):是碑骨肉(rou)勻適而情文流暢,漢隸之最(zui)可師法(fa)者,不必其定出鐘傅也。(《兩(liang)漢金(jin)石記·卷(juan)六·孔廟置守廟百石卒史(shi)碑》)
清代佛教居士彭紹升:此碑(bei)在(zai)孔廟中最為(wei)雄杰(jie),然(ran)風神故自(zi)駘宕。至(zhi)魏代諸(zhu)碑(bei),雄杰(jie)有余,而(er)駘宕不足(zu)。譬之《車鄰》《駟鐵》,伯者之風;視雅(ya)、頌之音,亦已遠矣。此碑(bei)或標(biao)鐘(zhong)太尉書。無(wu)論時分相(xiang)縣(懸(xuan)),即以氣體(ti)論,與《受禪》《勸(quan)進》諸(zhu)碑(bei),豈有相(xiang)似處耶?(《雪(xue)堂(tang)所藏金(jin)石文字薄錄·漢(han)·孔廟置百石卒史(shi)碑(bei)(潘秋谷藏本)》)

清(qing)代書法家方(fang)朔(shuo):《乙(yi)瑛(ying)》立于(yu)永興(xing)元年,在三碑(《乙(yi)瑛(ying)碑》《禮器碑》《史晨碑》)為(wei)最(zui)先,而字之方(fang)正沉厚,亦足以(yi)稱宗廟(miao)之美、百官之富。王(wang)蒻林(王(wang)澍)太史謂為(wei)雄古,翁覃溪(翁方(fang)綱)閣學(xue)謂為(wei)骨(gu)肉勻適,情文流暢,漢隸之最(zui)可師(shi)法者(zhe),不虛也。(《枕(zhen)經堂金石(shi)跋·卷二·舊拓漢魯相請置孔(kong)廟(miao)百石(shi)卒史碑跋》)
近代(dai)書(shu)(shu)法藝(yi)術家楊守敬:或稱(cheng)《孔和(he)》,或稱(cheng)《乙瑛》,皆(jie)即此(ci)碑。有宋張稚(zhi)圭按圖題記(ji),指為鐘(zhong)太尉書(shu)(shu)。《隸釋》謂(wei)鐘(zhong)繇(zhou)卒于魏(wei)太和(he)四年,去(qu)永興(xing)七(qi)十八年,圖經之誤,不待辨矣。然是碑隸法實佳(jia),翁(weng)覃溪(翁(weng)方(fang)綱)云:“骨肉勻適,情文流暢。”誠非溢美。但(dan)其波磔已開唐人庸熟一路。史(shi)惟則(ze)、梁(liang)升(sheng)卿(qing)諸人,未必不從此(ci)出。或以比《禮器》,則(ze)過譽矣。(《激素飛清(qing)閣評碑記(ji)·卷一·漢·孔廟置百(bai)石(shi)卒史(shi)碑》)

中(zhong)(zhong)國書(shu)法(fa)(fa)家協(xie)會顧問鐘明善:左(zuo)規(gui)右矩,法(fa)(fa)度森嚴,立(li)漢(han)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)風范的(de)。這(zhe)類碑(bei)(bei)(bei)刻(ke)(ke)在(zai)漢(han)隸(li)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)刻(ke)(ke)中(zhong)(zhong)為最多。其代表作有《熹平石經》《禮(li)器碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《曹(cao)全(quan)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《乙(yi)瑛碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《史晨(chen)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《華山碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《孔宙(zhou)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《朝侯(hou)小子殘(can)石》《韓仁銘》《楊叔(shu)恭(gong)殘(can)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《白石神君碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》《劉熊(xiong)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)》等。歷來人(ren)們認(ren)為這(zhe)類碑(bei)(bei)(bei)刻(ke)(ke)是(shi)漢(han)隸(li)碑(bei)(bei)(bei)刻(ke)(ke)的(de)典范。這(zhe)一派在(zai)當(dang)時是(shi)開(kai)風習、樹“八(ba)分”法(fa)(fa)則(ze)的(de)革新派,后世(shi)則(ze)視之為漢(han)隸(li)中(zhong)(zhong)之“館閣”。(《中(zhong)(zhong)國書(shu)法(fa)(fa)簡(jian)史》)
《乙(yi)瑛(ying)碑》刊(kan)刻(ke)后收存在山東曲阜(fu)孔(kong)廟同文門下,1978年移入(ru)孔(kong)廟東廡,1998年移存漢魏(wei)碑刻(ke)陳列館。2020年10月30日(ri),上(shang)海圖書館所藏的(de)《乙(yi)瑛(ying)碑》明末清初拓本(有(you)周大烈題簽)被文化和(he)旅游部公布為第六批國家珍貴古籍(編號:12888)。
