陽山縣(xian)境內使用(yong)(yong)的(de)方(fang)言(yan)主要有(you)兩種:一(yi)種是粵語(yu)陽山白(bai)話(hua)(hua)(本(ben)地話(hua)(hua)),使用(yong)(yong)者(zhe)占(zhan)全(quan)縣(xian)總(zong)人(ren)口的(de)55%;另外一(yi)種是客家(jia)(jia)話(hua)(hua),使用(yong)(yong)者(zhe)占(zhan)全(quan)縣(xian)總(zong)人(ren)口的(de)35%。此外,零星分(fen)布著瑤話(hua)(hua)、惠州白(bai)話(hua)(hua)、星子話(hua)(hua)、胡廣話(hua)(hua)方(fang)言(yan)點(dian),使用(yong)(yong)人(ren)口占(zhan)全(quan)縣(xian)總(zong)人(ren)口的(de)10%。相比(bi)較(jiao)而言(yan),陽山白(bai)話(hua)(hua)在(zai)全(quan)縣(xian)的(de)影響最大,客家(jia)(jia)語(yu)方(fang)言(yan)區(qu)、瑤語(yu)區(qu)的(de)居民進城(cheng)一(yi)般都操縣(xian)城(cheng)白(bai)話(hua)(hua),境內普(pu)遍存在(zai)雙語(yu)雙方(fang)言(yan)兼用(yong)(yong)現象。

韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)是(shi)唐(tang)代(dai)唯(wei)一(yi)(yi)一(yi)(yi)位一(yi)(yi)生曾(ceng)(ceng)(ceng)三(san)次入(ru)(ru)粵(yue),兩(liang)次在(zai)粵(yue)擔任地方長官的(de)大(da)文(wen)(wen)學家、詩(shi)(shi)人(ren)(ren)。韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)十歲(sui)時,曾(ceng)(ceng)(ceng)隨兄嫂謫居(ju)韶州(zhou)(zhou)兩(liang)年。韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)36歲(sui)時,曾(ceng)(ceng)(ceng)因諫(jian)旱饑(ji)為(wei)(wei)民請命貶陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)令(ling),第(di)二次入(ru)(ru)粵(yue),治陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)一(yi)(yi)年兩(liang)個(ge)月(yue)。韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)52歲(sui)時,因諫(jian)迎佛骨貶潮(chao)州(zhou)(zhou)刺(ci)(ci)史(shi),第(di)三(san)次入(ru)(ru)粵(yue),刺(ci)(ci)潮(chao)八(ba)個(ge)月(yue)。韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)在(zai)令(ling)陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)和(he)刺(ci)(ci)潮(chao)過程(cheng)中,施政(zheng)以(yi)仁,為(wei)(wei)政(zheng)以(yi)廉,輕徭薄賦,關心民瘼,興(xing)修水利,辦校興(xing)學,盡(jin)責盡(jin)力,為(wei)(wei)人(ren)(ren)民辦好事(shi),做實(shi)事(shi),大(da)大(da)促進(jin)了陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)、潮(chao)州(zhou)(zhou)乃(nai)至整個(ge)嶺(ling)南(nan)的(de)開化(hua)、開發和(he)開放,贏得陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)人(ren)(ren)民“生子(zi)名韓(han)(han)(han)”,潮(chao)州(zhou)(zhou)“一(yi)(yi)片山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)水盡(jin)姓(xing)韓(han)(han)(han)”的(de)美譽。從這個(ge)意義(yi)上說,韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)是(shi)唐(tang)代(dai)開發嶺(ling)南(nan)的(de)先(xian)驅,為(wei)(wei)嶺(ling)南(nan)的(de)社會(hui)發展和(he)進(jin)步作出了重大(da)貢獻。就陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)來說,韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)是(shi)陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)歷(li)史(shi)上第(di)一(yi)(yi)位有(you)名字,史(shi)跡記(ji)載(zai)的(de)縣(xian)令(ling)。陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)自(zi)(zi)西漢元(yuan)鼎六年(公元(yuan)前111年)設縣(xian),至韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)803年貶陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)令(ling),之前913年的(de)縣(xian)令(ling)無一(yi)(yi)記(ji)載(zai),可以(yi)說,陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)有(you)名字記(ji)載(zai)的(de)縣(xian)令(ling)自(zi)(zi)韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)始。韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)是(shi)陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)文(wen)(wen)化(hua)史(shi)上由蒙昧走向(xiang)文(wen)(wen)明的(de)一(yi)(yi)位里程(cheng)碑(bei)式的(de)人(ren)(ren)物。韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)還是(shi)唐(tang)代(dai)第(di)一(yi)(yi)位把陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)縣(xian)名冠入(ru)(ru)詩(shi)(shi)文(wen)(wen)的(de)大(da)文(wen)(wen)學家、詩(shi)(shi)人(ren)(ren)。他804年在(zai)陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)寫的(de)《送區(qu)冊序》,第(di)一(yi)(yi)句是(shi)“陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan),天(tian)下之窮處也”。同樣(yang),他在(zai)陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)寫的(de)《劉生》詩(shi)(shi),第(di)一(yi)(yi)句是(shi)“陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)窮邑(yi)唯(wei)猿猴”。陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)縣(xian)名便遂(sui)他的(de)詩(shi)(shi)文(wen)(wen)聞名天(tian)下,走向(xiang)世(shi)(shi)界。后(hou)人(ren)(ren)稱,世(shi)(shi)人(ren)(ren)先(xian)知有(you)韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu),然后(hou)知有(you)陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)矣。從這一(yi)(yi)點說開去,陽(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)(yang)山(shan)(shan)(shan)(shan)、潮(chao)州(zhou)(zhou)乃(nai)至廣東弘揚韓(han)(han)(han)愈(yu)(yu)文(wen)(wen)化(hua)就更(geng)具有(you)獨特(te)的(de)意義(yi)和(he)優勢。
