阿魯渾薩理,畏兀人。祖阿臺薩理,當太祖定西域還時,因從至燕。會畏兀國王亦都護請于朝,盡歸其民,詔許之,遂復西還。精佛氏學。生乞臺薩理,襲先業,通經、律、論。業既成,師名之曰萬全。至元十二年,入為釋教都總統,拜正議大夫、同知總制院事,加資德大夫、統制使。年七十卒。子三人:長曰畏兀兒薩理,累官資德大夫、中書(shu)右丞(cheng)、行泉府太卿;季曰島瓦赤薩理;阿魯渾薩理,其中子也,以父字為全氏,幼聰慧,受(shou)業于(yu)國(guo)師八哈(ha)思巴,既通其學,且(qie)解(jie)諸(zhu)國(guo)語。世祖(zu)聞其材,俾習中國(guo)之學,于(yu)是經(jing)、史、百(bai)家及陰陽(yang)、歷(li)數、圖緯、方技之說(shuo)皆通習之。后(hou)事裕宗,入宿衛,深見器重。
至元二十年,有西域僧自言(yan)(yan)(yan)能知天象(xiang),譯者(zhe)皆莫能通其(qi)說。帝(di)問左(zuo)(zuo)右(you),誰可(ke)使(shi)者(zhe)。侍臣脫烈對曰(yue):“阿魯(lu)渾(hun)薩理可(ke)。”即(ji)召與論難(nan),僧大屈服。帝(di)悅,令宿衛內朝。會有江(jiang)南人(ren)(ren)言(yan)(yan)(yan)宋(song)宗室反者(zhe),命遣使(shi)捕至闕(que)(que)下。使(shi)已(yi)發(fa),阿魯(lu)渾(hun)薩理趣入諫曰(yue):“言(yan)(yan)(yan)者(zhe)必(bi)妄,使(shi)不可(ke)遣。”帝(di)曰(yue):“卿(qing)何以言(yan)(yan)(yan)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)?”對曰(yue):“若果(guo)反,郡縣何以不知?言(yan)(yan)(yan)者(zhe)不由郡縣,而言(yan)(yan)(yan)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)闕(que)(que)庭,必(bi)其(qi)仇也。且江(jiang)南初定,民(min)疑未附(fu),一旦以小民(min)浮言(yan)(yan)(yan)輒捕之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),恐人(ren)(ren)人(ren)(ren)自危,徒中言(yan)(yan)(yan)者(zhe)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)計(ji)。”帝(di)悟,立召使(shi)者(zhe)還(huan),俾械系言(yan)(yan)(yan)者(zhe)下郡治(zhi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),言(yan)(yan)(yan)者(zhe)立伏,果(guo)以嘗貸(dai)錢不從誣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。帝(di)曰(yue):“非卿(qing)言(yan)(yan)(yan),幾誤(wu),但恨用卿(qing)晚(wan)耳。”自是命日侍左(zuo)(zuo)右(you)。
二十(shi)一(yi)(yi)年,擢朝列(lie)大(da)夫(fu)、左侍儀奉(feng)御(yu)。遂勸帝(di)治天下必(bi)用儒術,宜(yi)招致(zhi)山澤道(dao)藝之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)士(shi)(shi),以(yi)(yi)(yi)備(bei)任使。帝(di)嘉納之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),遣(qian)使求賢,置集(ji)賢館(guan)以(yi)(yi)(yi)待之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。秋九(jiu)月,命(ming)領館(guan)事(shi),阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理曰:“陛下初置集(ji)賢以(yi)(yi)(yi)待士(shi)(shi),宜(yi)擇重望(wang)大(da)臣領之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),以(yi)(yi)(yi)新(xin)觀聽。”請(qing)以(yi)(yi)(yi)司徒(tu)撒里蠻領其(qi)(qi)事(shi),帝(di)從(cong)(cong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。仍以(yi)(yi)(yi)阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理為(wei)中順大(da)夫(fu)、集(ji)賢館(guan)學(xue)(xue)士(shi)(shi),兼太史院事(shi),仍兼左侍儀奉(feng)御(yu)。士(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)應(ying)詔者(zhe),盡命(ming)館(guan)谷之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),凡飲食(shi)供帳,車服之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)盛(sheng),皆喜過(guo)望(wang)。其(qi)(qi)弗稱旨(zhi)者(zhe),亦請(qing)加賚(lai)而(er)遣(qian)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。有官于宣徽者(zhe),欲(yu)陰敗其(qi)(qi)事(shi),故(gu)盛(sheng)陳(chen)所給(gei)(gei)廩餼(xi)于內(nei)前,冀帝(di)見(jian)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。帝(di)果過(guo)而(er)問焉,對曰:“此一(yi)(yi)士(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)日給(gei)(gei)也。”帝(di)怒(nu)曰:“汝欲(yu)使朕見(jian)而(er)損之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)乎(hu)?十(shi)倍此以(yi)(yi)(yi)待天下士(shi)(shi),猶恐不至,況欲(yu)損之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),誰(shui)肯至者(zhe)。”阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理又言于帝(di)曰:“國學(xue)(xue)人才(cai)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)本,立國子監,置博士(shi)(shi)弟子員(yuan),宜(yi)優其(qi)(qi)廩餼(xi),使學(xue)(xue)者(zhe)日盛(sheng)。”從(cong)(cong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。二十(shi)二年夏六(liu)月,遷(qian)嘉議大(da)夫(fu)。二十(shi)三年,進集(ji)賢大(da)學(xue)(xue)士(shi)(shi)、中奉(feng)大(da)夫(fu)。
二十四年(nian)春,立尚(shang)書省,桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥用(yong)事(shi),詔阿(a)魯渾(hun)(hun)(hun)薩(sa)(sa)理(li)(li)(li)與同視事(shi),固辭,不許,授資德大(da)夫(fu)、尚(shang)書右丞(cheng),繼拜榮祿(lu)大(da)夫(fu)、平章政(zheng)事(shi)。桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥為(wei)政(zheng)暴橫,且進其(qi)(qi)黨與。阿(a)魯渾(hun)(hun)(hun)薩(sa)(sa)理(li)(li)(li)數(shu)切(qie)諍之,久與乖剌,惟(wei)以(yi)廉正自(zi)持。桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥奏立征(zheng)理(li)(li)(li)司(si),理(li)(li)(li)天下(xia)逋欠,使者相(xiang)望(wang)于道,所(suo)在囹圄皆(jie)滿,道路側目,無(wu)敢言者。會(hui)地震北(bei)京(jing),阿(a)魯渾(hun)(hun)(hun)薩(sa)(sa)理(li)(li)(li)請罷征(zheng)理(li)(li)(li)司(si),以(yi)塞天變(bian)。詔下(xia)之日(ri),百(bai)姓相(xiang)慶。未幾(ji),桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥敗(bai),以(yi)連坐,亦(yi)籍其(qi)(qi)產(chan)。帝(di)問(wen):“桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥為(wei)政(zheng)如此,卿何故(gu)無(wu)一言?”對(dui)曰:“臣(chen)(chen)未嘗不言,顧言不用(yong)耳。陛(bi)下(xia)方信任桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥甚,彼所(suo)忌獨(du)臣(chen)(chen),臣(chen)(chen)數(shu)言不行,若抱柴救火,只益(yi)其(qi)(qi)暴,不若彌(mi)縫其(qi)(qi)間,使無(wu)傷國(guo)家大(da)本,陛(bi)下(xia)久必自(zi)悟也。”帝(di)亦(yi)以(yi)為(wei)然,且曰:“吾甚愧卿。”桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥臨(lin)刑,吏猶以(yi)阿(a)魯渾(hun)(hun)(hun)薩(sa)(sa)理(li)(li)(li)為(wei)問(wen),桑(sang)(sang)(sang)哥曰:“我惟(wei)不用(yong)其(qi)(qi)言,故(gu)至于敗(bai),彼何與焉(yan)。”帝(di)益(yi)信其(qi)(qi)無(wu)罪(zui),詔還所(suo)籍財產(chan),仍遣(qian)張(zhang)九思賜以(yi)金帛(bo),辭不受。
二十(shi)八(ba)年(nian)(nian)(nian)秋,乞罷(ba)政事(shi)(shi),并免太(tai)(tai)(tai)史(shi)(shi)(shi)院使(shi),詔以(yi)為(wei)集(ji)賢(xian)大(da)(da)學士。司(si)天(tian)劉監丞言(yan),阿(a)(a)魯(lu)渾(hun)薩(sa)理在(zai)(zai)太(tai)(tai)(tai)史(shi)(shi)(shi)院時,數言(yan)國(guo)家災祥事(shi)(shi),大(da)(da)不(bu)敬,請下(xia)吏治。帝(di)大(da)(da)怒,以(yi)為(wei)誹謗(bang)大(da)(da)臣(chen)(chen),當抵罪。阿(a)(a)魯(lu)渾(hun)薩(sa)理頓首(shou)謝曰(yue)(yue)(yue):“臣(chen)(chen)不(bu)佞,賴陛(bi)下(xia)天(tian)地(di)含(han)容之(zhi)德,雖萬死莫報。然欲致言(yan)者(zhe)罪,臣(chen)(chen)恐自是無為(wei)陛(bi)下(xia)言(yan)事(shi)(shi)者(zhe)。”力爭之(zhi),乃得(de)釋。帝(di)曰(yue)(yue)(yue):“卿(qing)真(zhen)(zhen)長者(zhe)。”后(hou)(hou)雖罷(ba)政,或通夕召(zhao)(zhao)入論(lun)事(shi)(shi),知(zhi)(zhi)無不(bu)言(yan)。三(san)十(shi)年(nian)(nian)(nian),復(fu)領太(tai)(tai)(tai)史(shi)(shi)(shi)院事(shi)(shi)。明年(nian)(nian)(nian),帝(di)崩,成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong)在(zai)(zai)邊(bian),裕宗(zong)太(tai)(tai)(tai)后(hou)(hou)命為(wei)書(shu)趣成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong)入正大(da)(da)位,又命率翰林、集(ji)賢(xian)、禮(li)(li)官備(bei)禮(li)(li)冊命。明年(nian)(nian)(nian)春,加守司(si)徒、集(ji)賢(xian)院使(shi),領太(tai)(tai)(tai)史(shi)(shi)(shi)院事(shi)(shi)。初,裕宗(zong)即世(shi),世(shi)祖欲定皇(huang)太(tai)(tai)(tai)子(zi),未(wei)知(zhi)(zhi)所立(li),以(yi)問阿(a)(a)魯(lu)渾(hun)薩(sa)理,即以(yi)成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong)為(wei)封(feng),且言(yan)成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong)仁孝恭儉(jian),宜立(li),于是大(da)(da)計乃決,成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong)及裕宗(zong)皇(huang)后(hou)(hou)皆莫之(zhi)知(zhi)(zhi)也。數召(zhao)(zhao)阿(a)(a)魯(lu)渾(hun)薩(sa)理不(bu)往(wang),成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong)撫軍北(bei)邊(bian),帝(di)遣阿(a)(a)魯(lu)渾(hun)薩(sa)理奉(feng)皇(huang)太(tai)(tai)(tai)子(zi)寶于成(cheng)(cheng)宗(zong),乃一至其(qi)邸。及即位,語阿(a)(a)魯(lu)渾(hun)薩(sa)理曰(yue)(yue)(yue):“朕在(zai)(zai)潛邸,誰不(bu)愿事(shi)(shi)朕者(zhe),惟卿(qing)雖召(zhao)(zhao)不(bu)至,今乃知(zhi)(zhi)卿(qing)真(zhen)(zhen)得(de)大(da)(da)臣(chen)(chen)體。”自是招(zhao)對(dui)不(bu)明,賜坐視諸侯王等。嘗語左(zuo)右曰(yue)(yue)(yue):“若全平(ping)章(zhang)者(zhe),真(zhen)(zhen)全材(cai)也,于今殆(dai)無其(qi)比(bi)。”大(da)(da)德三(san)年(nian)(nian)(nian),復(fu)拜(bai)中書(shu)平(ping)章(zhang)政事(shi)(shi)。十(shi)一年(nian)(nian)(nian),薨(hong),年(nian)(nian)(nian)六十(shi)有三(san)。延祐四年(nian)(nian)(nian),贈推忠(zhong)佐(zuo)理翊亮功臣(chen)(chen)、太(tai)(tai)(tai)師(shi)、開府儀(yi)同三(san)司(si)、上柱國(guo),追封(feng)趙國(guo)公,謚文定。
子三人:長岳柱(zhu);次(ci)久著(zhu),終翰林侍讀學(xue)士;次(ci)買住,蚤卒。岳柱(zhu)自有傳(chuan)。阿臺(tai)薩理(li)贈保德功(gong)臣、銀(yin)青榮祿(lu)大夫、司徒(tu)、柱(zhu)國,追封趙(zhao)國公,謚端愿;乞臺(tai)薩理(li)累贈純誠守正功(gong)臣、太保、儀同三司、上柱(zhu)國,追封趙(zhao)國公,謚通敏。
岳柱(zhu)字止(zhi)所,一字兼(jian)山。自幼(you)容止(zhi)端(duan)嚴,性穎悟(wu),有遠識。方八(ba)歲,觀畫師何(he)澄畫《陶母剪發圖》,岳柱(zhu)指陶母手中金釧詰之(zhi)曰(yue):“金釧可(ke)易酒,何(he)用剪發為也(ye)?”何(he)大(da)驚,即(ji)異之(zhi)。既長就學(xue),日(ri)記千言。年(nian)(nian)十八(ba),從丞相(xiang)答失蠻(man)備宿衛(wei),出入禁中,如老成人。至(zhi)大(da)元(yuan)年(nian)(nian),授(shou)(shou)集賢(xian)學(xue)士(shi),階正(zheng)議(yi)大(da)夫,即(ji)以薦賢(xian)舉能為事(shi)。皇慶元(yuan)年(nian)(nian),升中奉大(da)夫、湖南道(dao)宣(xuan)慰使。日(ri)接見(jian)儒生,詢(xun)求民瘼。延祐三年(nian)(nian),進(jin)資善大(da)夫、隆(long)禧院(yuan)使。七年(nian)(nian),授(shou)(shou)太史院(yuan)使。英宗視其進(jin)止(zhi)整(zheng)暇,顧謂參政速(su)(su)速(su)(su)曰(yue):“全院(yuan)使真(zhen)故家令子(zi)也(ye)。”泰定元(yuan)年(nian)(nian),改太常禮(li)儀院(yuan)使。四年(nian)(nian),授(shou)(shou)禮(li)部(bu)尚書,領會同(tong)館事(shi),俄授(shou)(shou)江西等處行中書省參知政事(shi)。天歷元(yuan)年(nian)(nian),進(jin)榮祿(lu)大(da)夫、集賢(xian)大(da)學(xue)士(shi)。
至順(shun)二(er)年,除江(jiang)(jiang)西等處行(xing)中(zhong)書省平(ping)章政(zheng)(zheng)事。時有(you)誣(wu)告(gao)富民(min)負永寧王官帑錢八百余錠者,中(zhong)書遣使諸路(lu)征之(zhi)(zhi)。使至江(jiang)(jiang)西,岳(yue)柱曰(yue)(yue):“事涉誣(wu)罔(wang),不(bu)(bu)可(ke)奉命(ming)。”僚佐重違宰臣(chen)意(yi),岳(yue)柱曰(yue)(yue):“民(min)惟邦本,傷本以(yi)(yi)(yi)斂怨,亦(yi)非宰相福(fu)也。”令使者以(yi)(yi)(yi)此意(yi)復命(ming)。時燕(yan)帖木(mu)兒為丞相,聞其(qi)言,感悟(wu),命(ming)刑部詰治,得誣(wu)罔(wang)狀,罪誣(wu)告(gao)者若干人(ren)。宰相以(yi)(yi)(yi)奏,帝(di)嘉之(zhi)(zhi),特賜幣帛(bo)及上尊酒。桂(gui)陽州民(min)張思進(jin)等,嘯聚二(er)千(qian)余眾,州縣不(bu)(bu)能(neng)治,廣東宣慰(wei)司(si)(si)請(qing)發(fa)兵捕之(zhi)(zhi)。岳(yue)柱曰(yue)(yue):“有(you)司(si)(si)不(bu)(bu)能(neng)撫綏邊民(min),乃欲(yu)僥幸興兵,以(yi)(yi)(yi)為民(min)害耶?不(bu)(bu)可(ke)。”宰執皆(jie)失色(se),憲司(si)(si)亦(yi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)興兵不(bu)(bu)便為言,岳(yue)柱終(zhong)持不(bu)(bu)可(ke),遣千(qian)戶王英往問狀。英直(zhi)抵賊巢(chao),諭以(yi)(yi)(yi)禍福(fu),賊曰(yue)(yue):“致我為非者,兩巡(xun)檢司(si)(si)耳,我等何敢(gan)有(you)異(yi)心(xin)哉!”諭其(qi)眾,皆(jie)使復業,一方以(yi)(yi)(yi)寧。三(san)年,遷河南江(jiang)(jiang)北等處行(xing)中(zhong)書省平(ping)章政(zheng)(zheng)事。旋以(yi)(yi)(yi)軍(jun)事至揚州,得疾,明年十(shi)二(er)月,端坐(zuo)而卒,年五十(shi)三(san)。
岳(yue)柱(zhu)天(tian)資孝友,母(mu)(mu)弟(di)久住早卒,喪之(zhi)盡(jin)哀。尤(you)嗜經(jing)史,自天(tian)文(wen)、醫(yi)藥之(zhi)書,無不究極。度量弘擴(kuo),有(you)欺之(zhi)者,恬不為意。或(huo)問之(zhi),則曰(yue):“彼自欺也,我何與焉。”母(mu)(mu)郜氏亦常(chang)稱之(zhi)曰(yue):“吾(wu)子古人(ren)也。”
子(zi)四人:長(chang)普達,同僉行(xing)宣政院事(shi);次(ci)安僧(seng),為久住(zhu)后(hou),章(zhang)佩(pei)監丞(cheng);次(ci)仁壽,中(zhong)憲大夫、長(chang)秋寺卿。
